Anyone here have any suggestions for a cheap base coat in red that looks good? I am wanting RED. Nothing that has an orangish look to it!

By base coat I assume you mean single stage. These guys have good prices and sell in kits. Lot's of shades to choose from too.

I just painted Ford EP (Vermillion) in Chromabase (not cheap), however the same shop I bought that in had the Nasson brand in the same color for half the price, which was around 55/qt. That's pretty good for red!

Omni is a great paint for the money. It sprays really nice to boot. The same company in the link has base clear. Just search in there store.

be careful with omni paint, its cheap for a reason, when you could use 3 to 4 coats of ppg deltron to get the best coverage, it will take you 8-10 coats of omni, so you will use a lot more base
