I want to get rid of the 4x4 look and want to know what kind of lowering springs you guys are using, which ones are the best. I don't need a huge drop, just a nice look with good performance. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Exactly what i need right now too. I just put some 18" wheels on and i defenetaly need to lower down.
As of what i see most of the springs will lower about 1.25" which is fine i guess, but i don't know what to get either. I want something cheap with good performance.
Currently i'm looking on some eibachs on ebay at around $200

Running H&R SS. I like them not to low and not to high, just right IMHO. Plus the spring rate is a bit higher than the Eibachs

I went ahead and got the Eibach Sportlines on my car just because i got a great deal on them. It dropped the front 2 1/4 inches and the back 2 inches. It does not look too low at all. Looks very aggressive actually.

If i were you, and i had the money, I would DEFFINETLEY get some H&R's. They are kickass springs and will outlast your car. If you guys are looking at something a little cheaper that retains great quality, i would look into the FMS C springs. You can get them on ebay or on the classified forums for about $100-$120 shipped. They drop the car down about 1.5 inches all the way round and look great.

good luck

Check out maximum motorsports for good deals. I got the H&R super sports (SS) with bilstein shocks (Starter package). Ride is much firmer but solid if you know what I mean. Gives the car an agreesive stance with a smaller wheel well gap up front than out back. I would suggest getting urethene bushings and caster camber plates to make sure everything lines up. Its worth spending a little more now than alot later. I cant belive I had my car stock after changing it. The 4x4 is gone forever!

EpiKk3: I was in the same situation as you..I ended up just biting the bullet for a couple reasons..

I've heard that you have to have some kind of compression equipment...which I don't have..

and, It takes several hours..like 5 hours...to get them done, if you're a pro. It was worth my time to just have someone else do it, and gauruntee it.

Don't forget to re-align afterwards.

Eibach make great springs. Pro kit if you want it nicely low (its what I have see my sig for a link to my page for pics). Sportlines if you want it more slammed/low.

Personally I wish my car was a BIT lower...but im thinkin sportlines would be too low.

I had H&R Sport Springs and they were very nice. It wasn't jut low enough and the ride wasn't harsh. I now have FMS C springs and they are pretty good as well wil a little less lowering. I think GEFracing.com has the lowest price I them. But I got them from Summit Racing for the price matching and cheaper shipping.

Here's a pic of mine with FMS C springs. Lowers the car more than they say they will. Works for me but not low enough for some people. Personally i just wanted to get a lower look without having to worry about scraping in every driveway.

And I installed myself without a spring compressor. Just needed my brother's help and a whole lot of elbow grease.

Since I have a vert, do you suppose that getting the springs for a coupe will actually provide more of a drop in the rear?

Thinking the only difference is really the rear spring rate, right?
