Buy a 5.0. You will get more power with more aftermarket right now and you can usually get parts cheaper as well as a cheaper starting platform.

I have maybe only seen one or two (96-98s) run into the 14s(high)
and as of your complete bone stock 99 running 13.7
(no gears, no exhaust, nothing)

maybe your. my car ran 14.55 my first time out with nothing but a shifter and H-pipe and crappy stock 2.73 gears. Myabe there are alot of bad tracks and bad drivers around you? high elevation? you only go to the track with 80* and 90% humidity?

last year a guy at the track had an 01 gt kicked my butt, still have the slip, and ran a 13.7@100. Talking to him in the pits he had zero mods so I pulled his air silencer for him.

Maybe so. You can see my run that I just posted, and my mods.
Yeah we are probably all a bunch of sorry ass drivers.
A bullitt w/ LT, cai, DRs, and tuned only ran 13.6
A stock 2001 GT was running 14.5s
A 2003 cobra was running 13.2s
Stock 97 to 99 cobras were running 14.0 to 14.5s
and I ran a 13.9
But yes it was 90 degrees out side.
