Hi,

I am going to be replacing my worn out Trac Lok, and would like to replace it with an Eaton unit. Where is the best place to get the diff. from.

Thanks,

DTS is the best place for rear stuff, but you should go to ModularDepot.com and do a search. Alot of people have grenaded the eaton unit. I bought a Detroit TruTrac and love it

by DTS i hope you didnt mean drivetrain specialists. i have alot of things done and have ordered tons of different parts, from body parts to all kinds of performance parts.

drivetrain specialists were by far the worst company ive ordered from so far. i got my eaton posi from them. they is no problem with the product, but sent me the frpp unit first by mistake, then i had to sent it back to get them to send me the posi.

i said no big deal people make mistakes. however it did take them a long time to complete this process.

what pissed my off the most is they completely ripped me off on the price. they are crooks. they promised me a good price on the eaton, gave me the good price but sent me the frpp. when we exchanged they charged me the full price of the eaton and didnt want to head anything else about the situation.

i was going to consider their custom axles that they claim are so great, but after the crappy experiance, you can see i ordered mosers from summit.
they lost my business on the axles and i will never order anything from them again.

I am intrigued by the Detroit TruTrac. The place that is going to do the install (B&D Racing, CA) recomended possibly considering a Torsen differential, which seems very similar to the TruTrac unit. I will need to give all this more thought.

When I bought mine, the Eaton was the cheapest at mph.

I went ahead and bought the Detroit TruTrac (31 spline) from nationaldrivetrain.com, along with a set of Moser axles (31 spline) from MPH, a complete rebuild kit, a new FRPP ring and pinion (4.10s again) I am also going to order a Diff. girdle (not sure which one to get. Im trying to decide between the TA Performance and the Ford Racing variety. This all depends on if the girdle will clear the MM Panhard Bar Im going to have installed at the same time) and a set of studs to hold the differential in. Im also going to see if B&D can weld the axle tubes and torque boxes. After all this I should have a relatively bullet proof setup.

ADRENLN, sorry about your luck with DTS. There service was top notch for me and helped me alot. I received my Trutrac in 3-4 days and the price was good.

Jesus, good choice on the TruTrac. Alot of people like them and it has worked great for me. I have almost the same setup and I ordered my axles and cover and main caps from Moser directly. I launch at 6200rpm on slicks and its been great
