Would like names of dealers who offer best prices on new non current Mustang GT 5 speed '08 or '09.

Willing to travel for a smoking deal.

I just bought a 2008 GT Convertible Premium, 5 speed, 3.55 rear axle, 18" wheels, IUP, and some other options for $27K (plus I got a reasonable price on my trade in). Sticker was around $36K. Ford is offering $6,000 in cash incentives on leftover '08s and $3500 on leftover '09s (cash incentives may vary depending on where you live). Plus, I went online to the Ford site and requested an online brochure on the 2010 Mustang. When it came in the mail there was a coupon for an additional $750 off any 2008-2010 Mustang, so a total of $6750 in cash from Ford really brought the number down. I guess I could have knocked the price down further if I had bargained harder, but I am pretty satisfied with the price I paid.

Dealer was Pleasantville Ford in Pleasantville, NY. I think they still have some 08s and 09s in stock. You can check their web site.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like you got a killer deal on a great ride.
I appreciate the info about the cash incentives and coupon too.

Anyone else know of a dealer willing to sharpen the pencil?

Went to Mullinax New Smyrna website and their inventory showed 0 new 2008 GTs left.

Very good price though!

Called and spoke to Bill Huber.
He said they have 2 left both White. 1 auto cloth seats at $22400 and 1 manual with after market leather upgrade from cloth at $23750. Iasked if this was bottom price after $6000 rebate from Ford and he said yes. This sounds like MSRP less rebate. Think for '08 models there should be a little more off. Just mho though.

Look around

You may think that the price is high. Try to find one cheaper...if you cant then the price isn't high, if you can find one cheaper than it is high....I looked for 3 months and found them to be the cheapest....good luck

Does that include taxes and all fees?
Sounds like he wants a lot for the leather upgrade.
You can buy take-off leather and either install it yourself or pay someone for much less.
That price is also over an automatic which costs at least $800 more than the manual.

Wareham Ford has a left over blue 2008 vert, 5 speed advertised for just under $27K.

That's definitely high for what you are getting for those specific cars. Stripped down Mustang GTs with nearly no options.

Just because I might be selling an Enzo for $15 million, that doesn't mean the price isn't high if I'm the only one selling one.


If you are considering a 2008, you'll definitely have to be very option to option and color combos as there won't be many left out there at all. Also keep this in mind: when you trade it in, it is still a 2008 regardless of when you buy it. Dealers and CarMax offered me about $16k for my car with under 11k miles on it 4 months ago. You are going to take a larger than usual depreciation hit on a new 2008.

You hit the nail on the head.These 2 or base GTs which are 2 years old (3 model years). The dealer was not offering any thing off sticker other than the $6K rebate Ford is offering. I think you could buy an '010 for less than sticker.

I appreciate everyone trying to help me find the most bang for my buck and understand that leftover '08s will not be available with my first choice of color, trans or other options. It was worth a shot though.

Thanks to all on the forum for being so helpful. The GT sure offers a lot for your money compared to other cars.

The $23400 & $23750 prices do not include taxes and fees. Sales tax in Mobile, AL is 4.5% of purchase price plus tag % registration fees. (if you have a trade you pay tax on difference also sales tax is calculated on price before rebates-how do I know? Bought and '08 pickup with and '06 trade and received rebate but paid tax on amount before rebate.
