Before I did my turbo I had BBK LTs, Dr. Gas X, and Spintech Pro Streets w/tailpipes. It sounded amazing and I would have kept it forever had I not gone turbo. It was very clean and quieter in the car and still screamed when you got on it while doing it with a clean tone. I recieved many many comments on how great it sounded. I used to think loud was cool too, but in the end a quieter, cleaner tone is the best.

I LOVE mine...

YouTube - Killercanary's best passes at the 2008 SSOTN Fall Nationals

The video doesn't even do it justice though.

1-3/4 MAC longtubes
3" into 2.5" Dr. Gas X pipe
2.5" cat back with dynomax welded ultraflow mufflers

It sounded just as good with 1-5/8 FMS shorties, 2.5" offroad bassani X pipe, and the same cat back

I have bbk shorties, mac o/r h pipe and welded in flows and it sounds good. I do have a magna pack cat back waiting to go in as I want something a little more aggressive. I also have mac long tubes and a mac prochamber that will go on when the long tubes get ceramic coating.

I really like my Borla race mufflers but they are Loud! (No Cats)
I'm going to try their Pro XS mufflers out on one of my cars...and this will also be with an H-pipe with no cats. I love the Borla sound I'm also keeping one with 3 chamber Flowmasters...nice and mellow Flowmaster sound.

Mac shorties, Bassani O/R X, and a Bassani aftercat system on mine. It's very loud and I get lots of people telling me it's the best sounding stang they've heard (of course most of these aren't car people), but I'm not quite sure what it sounds like from the outside while being driven so I can't say for myself. If I ever get around to it and can break away from my Chevy long enough I'd like to throw some longtubes on it since I don't have to do emissions anymore. I had a Mac aftercat before with the same x and headers and it sounded like absolute crap and droned much more than with the bassanis.

Flowmaster for sure. I have them on the stang and loved them so much I put one on the Ram. I have a magnaflow high flow cat on the Ram which helped a good bit. For me there is only 1 muffler brand though

I have a similar view, although my setup is

347 Stroker
Systemax Heads
Anderson N61 cam
Holley Systemax II Intake
Mac Long Tubes
Off Road X
Borla Stingers w/ side pipes

I'm hoping to get a video of the new setup soon.

A 331 stoker motor with equal length headers, no cats with some flowmasters. best thing ive ever heard. but i think the sound of flowmasters on the 5.0 cant be topped. just my opinion.

What about cutouts? That's my plan. Then again I am going for sleeper station wagon status.

I find the older I get, the quieter I want my exhaust.

I still love the sound of an off-road H-pipe and flowmasters, but too loud for me.

I think I'm going to try a Bassani X pipe and Flows nect

I drive the car very little so I wanted that signature old school sound, I have BBK shorties but I switched it up a little with a catless x pipe instead of the h pipe. It definitely has a different tone that I am still getting used to but I am satisfied with the volume.
