If 'it' don't then trade for another one, they usually have a room full to pick from.

Best thread! I remember the giggles and laughter when "CRAZY UNCLE" would take them anywhere in my 72 SS Chevelle. When I got the vert they loved it just as much. Just didn't slide as much on the tweed as the vinyl interior. now they are in their 30's and those memories are sill fresh for them. Good times... good times.

Not a Mustang, but I have to post. It's my other speedy car.

I always get the "Race him daddy!" when he sees another car.

I get out voted by my wife, wife's family and my own family on taking the kids in my car. My oldest is two so it isn't an issue yet, but i'd be lying if I said I didn't consider a 4pt bar to shut everyone up.
I win about 99% of arguments, so this is one I let slide, for now...

Maybe it would give me a good reason to drive it more, rather than just around the block.

I think the key to child safety in any vehicle, new or old, is having a good quality, well designed child safety seat that is properly adjusted and correctly installed. Car seats, especially for child booster seats with seat backs, have come a long way in safety design for side impact IMO.

Ain't that the truth. What's the statistic, something like 60% of car seats are installed incorrectly. Also, there are some pretty cheesy car seats out there. And even with the full side impact ones, all but like 3 are Chinese.

That reminds me of an old youtube video of a guy ripping in his srt8 Cherokee that was caged with his daughter laughing the whole time in the back seat

I'm pretty fanatical about the car seat install, we have all good car seats too.
Unfortunately my good recaro car seat to match my explorer interior had to be returned. It was so big and intrusive I couldn't see a damn thing out of the side window. So the seat would be really safe, but my driving wouldn't. Couldn't even get out of my driveway safely.
Because of my height it would have been a full 2 years before it could be forward facing behind the drivers seat. On the passenger side literally I could not see a thing, that goes for my wifes srx too.
Here's another tip for you younger guys, buy everyone that will have to drive your kid around a car seat and a base, makes life so much easier. I have 2 kids but like 4 seats and 4 carrier bases. They make great Christmas and birthday gifts for your parents and brother/sisters, inlaws, lol.

Ah car seats.

My wife and I are making our next vehicle purchase solely based on the ease of getting three car seats and the kids in.

Gone are the days I could buy a car on horsepower only
