hey everyone, i am swapping out rearends in my car now and my 8.8 has a slight rust coming on it...whats the best way to clean, get rid of this rust and repaint the rear end before i put it back on the other car??also when i paint the rear end how should i protect the pumpking case bolts and seal from paint getting in there?
thanks,
Tyler

sanding or a grinder to get the rust off. if it's quite a bit of rust or if its into the metal pretty bad your going to need to paint it with some rust sealing primer/paint. Epoxy primer works nice, rust wont come back. Then paint it the color you want.

i was going to use engine degreaser, brake cleaner or water etc or just watever to clean it up good with a rag and then i was going to sand it and then i have this rust dissolver or killer that i was going to put on it and then after that i was going to paint it with high heat engine block paint...does this sound like a good idea?
thanks,
Tyler
