Best Way to remove Flywheel?

I am having problems getting the flywheel off, what is the best way to get it off?
And what would yall recommend do, get a new flywheel or get it resurfaced? There is some missing teeth but besides that it is in decent shape considering it has 230k+ miles on it.

impact gun works best. If your flywheel is missing teeth i would get a new one. Center force flywheels are decently priced. If you drag race this car and you don't have a scattershield now maybe the time to upgrade that aswell.

i just looked that up and the cheapest centerforce flywheel was 325. The car very rarely will see the dragstrip, the next time i will take it is whenever i get a set of gears for it. autozone had a standard replacement for 60, so that will just have to do.

are you sure that $325 is for a steel one? sounds more like an aluminum flywheel price. I got my spec billet steel flywheel for $200 shipped.
i thought so, but maybe it was aluminum. either way, i think the $60 autozone replacement should be just fine. the car has hardly no mods and im sure the only thing that will be done to it in the next few years will be gears.

i used a screwdriver and stuck it between the teeth and in one of the holes in the block plate to tighten the bolts. should work the same for removing them

but i used an impact to remove em

another trick i heard of is stuff some nylon rope into one of the spark plug holes so as your rotating the engine is stops when the rope hits the top of the CYL and dosent allow the crank to rotate anymore
