I have a 1992 Gt project. The engine is stock except it has and E-cam. I am at the point that I would like to get the car on the road and drive it some.
I have done the following:
I have no codes. I have no Check Engine Light.
I have replaced the Ignition Control Module.
I have cleaned the 10 pin connectors.
I have cleaned the computer terminals.
I have cleaned the engine and computer ground wires.
I have replaced the PIP sensor.
I installed a second whole distributor.(another pip and ICM)
I installed and set a new TPS.

My problems is the car jerks and bucks when releasing the clutch. (1st gear and reverse). The engines stalls/dies unless the RPMs are up around 1500-2000. The car can starting jerking and bucking when the throttle is applied after the clutch is released.

The engines has a slight studder/shutter when coming off idle around 1100-1200 RPM. This is under no load just reving the engine up(depressing the accelerator peddle). Then the engine revs fine under no load all the way to 5500RPM +.

When under load the engine will not rev above 4400-4500 RPMs. The engine is smooth but will not exceed 4500 RPMs under load. ( No spitting or Backfiring)
Today I put the car in 1st Gear, I drove down the road for 1/4-1/2 mile with the accelerator depressed and the engine would not exceed 4500RPMs. The car pulls strong up to 4500RPMs and then literally quites making power. Same thing in second gear; engine pulls strong up to 4500RPM and then the car will not go faster unless shifter into 3rd gear. When the car is below 4500 RPM I can not detect a miss or anything.
.
Spark plugs look good. They are Autolite. Estimated 2000 miles on them
Plugs wires look good.Rotor Cap nearly new
What would you look for/Change/Test
Awaitng your thoughts.

I had a car years ago that wouldn't pass a certain RPM. Changed a ton of parts and didn't fix it. Turned out it was the fuel filter.

Engine Suggestions on an engine rebuild. Stock cam/GT40Ps or aftermarket on both for a fun weekend driver?
