Has anyone looked at the possibility of retro-fitting a 460 in an 05' ?? Also, will a 9" rearend work on these cars too?

Maybe he is one of the people who's engine has already failed. Or he wants to build up a 600-700hp beast?

That was my question. Unless you're building a SEMA show car, there are cheaper ways to get more HP out of the OEM drivetrain.

I would imagine a 460 would fit in the 05. It fits in previous year chassis with no problems. As to the 9", give Currie a call. They could make you a 9" to fit your daughters tricycle if you were willing to pay for it.

Personally if I were putting a pushrod engine in an 05 I'd go with a 400+ ci smallblock. But to each his own.

There was a very long discussion on this about 3 months ago.

Yeah, but I prefer cheap and fun. Trying to fit a 460 and a 9" read end in an '05 sounds like way too much hassle IMO. I'd rather mod the 4.6.

I'm sure in the next 2 years, there will be "body in white" frames you could build. I would expect to see a couple Pro 5.0 cars in the near future with 05 bodies! Cool idea!

Thnx for all your reply's. I don't want to reveal too much at this time, but I'm sure most of you can guess what I wanna do here. As far as I can see the big problem with this will be room for the headers, or lack therof. I just wanted to see if anyone has thought about this yet, and what conclusions you have ended up with.

if ya wanna drop the money, that i dont have, but if i did i would so drop a 5.0 Cammer crate motor w/ supercharger in her. The lack of $20,000 is my only hold back, but it would be a Vette killa, but on the other hand for that money you can make a 4.6 own on alot more than just Vette's, but it would still be cool.

The vehicle will be used only on a drag strip, and will certainly eat many a vette's =)
