Big TPS issue

Well my Mac 75mm TB butterfly does sit very flush and the mounting holes are canted as well so when i try to put this thing on im getting 1.25vdc instead of .98-1.0 i adjust it and get .99 but even holding it tight after i tighten it down i end up with 1.15vdc. Now heres the kicker when i had decent voltage i moved the throttle to see if it went up to about 4.75 full open and when i did all i hear was snap.... now my TPS is trash this is my only vehicle right now sold my other. Auto Zone is 5 Miles down the road think i can make it without a TPS? Any other advice greatly appreciated im getting pretty frustrated

Yeah you will be fine. Without it you might have some tip in sluggishness and some other odd driveability problems but nothing that will shut the car down on you or blow somthing up.

BTW about the TPS. 1.15 falls within spec for the TPS on your car. It does not have to be at .99 exactly.

IN KOEO mode ( key on engine off mode the pcm needs to see anywhere from .52-1.27 V to opererate correctly and the same voltage for hot idle. It does not have to be a .99. Back in the day in the eec IV cars TP voltage played a much more important role in the computers stratagy. on EEC V fords the PCM pays more attention to the TP MODE ( C/T, P/T and W/T) and throttle angle rate

IN case you don't beleive me here is the reference values out of the ford powertrain control book. 3/4 of the way down you will see the values for TP V thats thottle pos sensor voltage.
