What is the safest amount of nitrous can i use on a close to stock motor with a few bolt ons??

I would personally say a 100 is about as far as you'd want to go.

I spray a mild 75 shot and it is everything I need for the car. The amount of spray is only as safe as you make it. Getting on the dyno and checking the a/f and getting a proper tune is always nice. I'd advise you to purchase all of the safety equipment to go along with the kit (and yes--this can add up rather quickly and be the same price as the kit).

150 shot with a VERY good tune, highly reccomend at least a Focus fuel pump to keep things flowing correctly.

My buddy ran that on his 99 GT with zero issues, and it hauled tail.

Had a buddy who ran a 190 shot, burned a hole in a piston.


If you want to stay safe though, 100 or 125 shot with a good tune and proper saftey accessories.

What is the minimum RPM that you will spray at?
100 HP shoot at 2500 RPM will be around 500 ftlbs of torque
150 HP shoot at 3500 RPM will be around 510 ftlbs of torque
190 HP shoot at 4500 RPM will be around 510 ftlbs of torque
The lower the RPM the higher the max torque that will be produced

Just for reference the 190 HP shoot at 2500 RPM will be around 685 ftlbs of torque

i run a 125 shot and no problems. It turns on at 3000 rpm and the timing is retarted 6 deg to be safe. just have it dyno tuned and ull be fine

Sorry there is no calculator for this on the web site.

Because a xx HP shot will produce that HP increase at most RPM you can convert xx HP at any RPM to see what the torque increase will be.

I've been running a 125 for a year and a half. I installed on car with 6000 miles and now have 34000 miles. I am building motor, but not because of the nitrous, I had PTVC when I installed my cams 3 months .

The right answer to your question is not what you want to hear.... ZERO.

As to what is still low risk, I would not go beyond 100HP

I would call100 shot a fair bet. After that you are playing w/ fire. You CAN run it but, the higher you go, the bigger it goes boom when it does.

Ya, but you juicersaren't spraying every single day. It's not like a blower.

Anyway, I'd stay below 125 to be safe. 150 is asking for trouble. 100 is pretty damn safe with the right tools (window switch, WOT switch, timing retard, plugs, etc)

Say what you want, I've run 2-4 bottles a month in my car for 2 years with 0 issues.

You need to learn how to read, my motor is not getting rebuilt because of failure due to nitrous. I had to take it apart because of PTV contact. The interals looked great with no signs of wear and tear.

I ran a 125HP shot using the NOS Noszle setup, ran 3 bottles thru it, on a STOCK tune. This is the way it is sold, to be used with a stock tune. BUT...
I had the following 'safety equipment':

NOS Window Switch (3000-6000)
FPSS
Kenne Bell BAP
Plasma Booster
Autometer Fuel pressure gauge (electric, mounted in the car for constant viewing)
Innovate Motorsports Wideband

I'd still probably be running it if it didn't get totalled back in April. And I'm glad I had the chance to use it; it's awesome. The torque is incredible. It would pull like a freight train. I loved to use it in 3rd gear.
However, it always gave me a worry (as it was my daily driver) so my next power adder will be a supercharger, with any and all options and a tune by Sam over at Coastal Dyno in Tampa. That's my plan for my 04 Mach...
