Considering I am a poor college student, I can live with putting on a bike rack on the stang when I actually am taking my bike somewhere. Sorry but buying another car so the stang doesn't look "stupid" for an hour drive isn't a priority.

But thanks for the comments ass clowns!

I could but if a friend wants to come....then it'd be nice to throw two bikes up top. And before the flames....I am getting into biking again..so I'd be the one who'd put up cash for a rack that way I could take different peeps.

What kind of bike do you ride? I have fit two bikes in the back of my GT with no problem. BMX bikes, mountain bikes, didn't really matter, both fit fine. Fit both bikes, some tools, and drove me and a friend with no problem. Just lay a crappy old blanket down or something so nothing gets scratched or dirty.

I have my amp mounted on the back of one of the rear seats, I'd prefer not to lay anything on it..but I suppose just putting a heavy blanket over it wouldn't hurt. So as long as I am not pushing the amp too much.

I'm able to fit two bikes with the rear seat folded down, just becareful when closing or else a pedal might go through the hatch. If you have a notch, there may be no other choice, but yakama (i think) should make some universal racks.

Hey Pauly-

I used to mountain bike heavily when I was at FSU. Thule makes really good roof racks and I actually had one on my 93GT for a while. They are quite expensive (around $300.00 for the 4 foot pads, fit kit, and locks alone-the actual bike trays are another $60-$100.00 each). I had some load bars that I bought from another poor college kid that needed the money. I also had a fairing on the front that cut down on the wind noise. I have since taken them off and now my brother has them. Like Fly and 5.0 have said, I also have had my Cannondale MTB and my brother's GT MTB in the back with the seat folded down with enough room for a cooler. I have 3 amps on my back seats and you can place the bikes so that the handlebars support the bike above the amps (I had to take off the front tires). BTW-I would sometimes hit my head on the front load bar when getting in/out of my car-be careful not to get the load bars too wide.

Later-

I MTB and have a U-haul bike rack...they make them with a larger arch so it wont mess up the tail fin. Takes about 5 minutes to attach/take off and folds neatly up for easy storage. Yes my stang looks stupid with it on but I only live 15 miles from the trail so I dont care.

p.s. yeah i'd just try some way to put them in the back, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Maybe it'll help traction or something heh.

I agree NO HITCH. The one I use straps down to the upper hatch and then under the bumper. It DOES help with traction, my car hooks hard with the Bike and bike rack on...beat a vette by 2 car lengths....J/K
