Was looking at billet optima battery trays similar to this and I was wondering just how easy they were to install. Do I need to find a way to fill in the gap by the frame rail? The only pics I could find were of cars that had had that spot welded up and painted.
Easiest way would probably be to make a bracket that bolts on the framerail, rises up to where the battery box will lay, then has a flat plane that extends all the way over to the inner fender. Of course, drill mounting holes in the thing to attach the battery tray.
