I wired it according to directions...but it does not pull like it used to. 3G is not keeping up with it (volts drop and wont come back up). Anyone wire it diffently? 3G is putting out 14.6 volts at idle until fan comes on.

Basically the smartest thing to do is connect the power wire to your Ignition in your fuse box. Run the wire to a fuse so that when you turn your key in your car, the fan always runs and just doesn't kick on a a certain Temp. This way your fan will always blow, keeping your engine cool all the time and not when it hits a high temp. Run the black (ground) wire to either a bolt of some type, or you can run it to your neg. battery terminal. I try and keep as little things as possible running to your battery as they can drain it faster, making your fan not blowing the CFM's it should. Good Luck!
how many amps does the fan draw? have you checked the draw before (to compare)? is the motor spinning freely?
wires good, no shorts, proper ground? i bet so, as you know what you are doing.
Killer, are you recommending he wire it that way (your way), without using a relay or auxillary switch? if so, i seriously disagree (with all respect).
there are many situations where you dont want the fan on anyhow (at start up, on the highway, when the thermostat is closed, etc). in those situations, it is an extra draw on the charging system and wears the fan motor out faster.
were i to follow your idea, i would use a switch AND a relay. the relay will help get as much power to the fan as possible, which is one thing your said you were after with your method.
perhaps i just misread what you said, and if so, my bad. but i wanted to say something in case someone follows your schematic, as i perceived it.
