I found a thread the other day with info for black out tail lights but I am not having any luck at the moment finding it again. Who makes black out tails for these cars are they tail lights or spray on tint or just some kind of cover. If you have any info or pics it would be appreciated.

i had the GTS blackout covers. i did not like them. they would squeek as you drove the car. i tried to adjust the position many time with no luck. and i have good experience adjusting things, i am a bodyman! they were not smooth, but kind of wavy. didnt look very good, IMO. they fronts are a joke as well, there is nothing to hold them onto the bottom of the light. get something else.

They may not make them since they would be illegal.

I used Lamin-X on my old car. They made the lights look almost black during the day but at night they were no less bright than normal.

I had them for well over a year with no police pressure at all.

I'm looking for a pre-cut set, but I might just get the sheet and make them myself.

Some cops might overlook them. Others may not. If you are out of town and they don't know you, you could be in for trouble.
I know my local car custom shop won't install them or illegal tints because customers come back to him after they are stopped.
Check with your local police and get their opinion.
They do affect the visibility of your brakes. I don't know if I would chance someone eating lunch, talking on a cell phone or doing their hair not seeing me brake because of dark taillights.

contact dave at Macon Moore Performance.
badassfast.com
he has a guy that does them for like 150 with a core. 200 without. i am not positive about the price but it is close. the guy that does them sands them down paints them and then clear coats them. they look sick and it keeps the DOT on the tail.

I used the autobadges.com 50% tint on my car... no trouble with visibility of the reflectors or lights through the tint...
