I have a 2001 mustang cobra and I want to get black lights for the back. I found an auction on ebay for black lights but I don't know if it will work for my car. What is the diffirence between the lights on my car and the newer cobra. Can I make these black lights work? Its item # 69055893
Is there anything I can buy to make them work? If you have any help please let me know. Thanks

You should check out Autobadges.com, they also sell the tints for your tail lights. Many buy from them and you get your product fast. You can also email any questions and you will get a response ASAP, not in days like other companies. They have two different kinds as well, 50% smoked or a blackout tint. On top of that they sell a tint for your third brake light and side reflectors to have all the lights matching. If you want just the tail tints, its $65 shipped to your door. Thats where I bought mine (50%) and they went on with no problems, and look great.

Heres the site, you can scroll down and find the ones you want:

Don't know if you have the capability but you can actually spray the tailights with an automotive grade clear coat with some black base coat mixed in. You only need a very small amount of black. My brother is a body man by trade and has done this on my SHO, my Stand (97) and my girlfriends Eclipse.

This is probably the best way to do the tint, but if you don't have the capability yourself it will cost you. I know he charges $75 a set to do this since there is a bit of prep labor and then he wet sands and buffs when completed for a truly polished look. The benefit to this is that the tint will not peal off since it is "painted" on. This also allows the light to come through. The amount of light to pass through and the darkness (look) of the tail light depends on the amount of black you add to the clear and the number of coats you apply. This is truly the premier way to tint any plastic light.
