The other night I was on my way home from the bar and somebody was throwin eggs out into the road. 3 or 4 hit my car and chipped the hood and spiderwebbed it around the chip. I turned around and got out to look for them but they must have already run away. Punk ass kids. My question is can a body shop blend the spot in without painting the whole hood. I dont want to have to deal with removing my spring edition stripes and putting them back on.

to be honest the whole hood would need to be painted.......the reason being is because the hood hood would need to be recleared.Dont let the shop talk you into them masking up the hood decals and painting around. You can also maybe have the shop repaint the stripes on the hood for you istead of replacing it with decal.

That would be sweet if they could repaint the stripes on. I wouldn't mind that if I ever had something happen to my hood. That way I could wax the whole hood instead of avoiding the stripes. Somebody on here knows where to get those stripes but I can't remember who. If they repainted the hood though...would they have to blend it into your fenders?

bleanding onto the top iof the fenders depends on the condition of the paint.if the paint is in good shape and not faded then it shouldn't be any problem to not blend.but if the paint if faded or if its a hard color to match up then sometimes its best to blend the tops of the fenders.

I had a problem with the Dealer chipping the lower sides of my doors when I got the head replaced. I had a friend who does touchups to new cars only come out to my work and he repaired the chips and blended the lower part of the doors and its perfect. I wasnt too happy about it but I was happy with the results.
