ok I am driving the car and I notice the blinkers wont work anymore. I get a new flasher and still no go. I get back into the car to go to the parts yard and it's such a nice day I decide I want to put the top down. Uh oh the pump isnt working anymore. I am thinking I have some electrical bug in the steering area. My CCRM is also on the fritz, could it have anything to do with the blinkers and top pump?

Year of stang? I know 94-95's have CCRM's and think that 4 banger foxes might as well.

I dunno what a CCRM is, so I'll skip that...

Try your rear defrost. If strange things happen as a result, check the ground wire that goes to the dash chasis to ensure it didn't get kicked loose and is making good contact.

Should be near the radio slot on the driver's side.

the car is a 93 ex four banger. the wiring is a rat's nest and the ccrm is still under the hood. My voltmeter says power is going to it so I thought that all mustangs had them????
a bad ground sounds more plausible. I dont have a rear defrost as it is a vert, but I will start poking around the steering column to see what is going on there.

My car had the exact same problem. Try wiggling the key. Mine was the ignition switch.

I'd agree with the ignition switch idea.

Andy, the CCRM is basically just a box of relays that the dealer charges a retarded amount for. Though it's for a 94-95, see the pics at the bottom of the link-page if you're curious:

94-95 CCRM tech note.

And if your fox 4 banger CCRM is like an SN, the FP could be related to the CCRM but the other items are not involved.

Good luck.

well I tried wiggling the switch. move #2 is to grab one from the junkyard.
so 93 5.0's did not have a ccrm? I wonder how much other crap is on this car that I dont need. Thanks for the help guys

The 4 banger foxes did have CCRM's (though I dont know exactly what they controlled).

Again, the CCRM has no control over the blinkers so that's not likely. However, the ignition switch does (as well as the CCRM, which probably controls the FP). I'm not sure a wiggle test is the best for an ignition switch. I'd want to replace it and inspect the wiring in case it burned. If it truely looks good, check whatever fuses and links you have on the car, since a couple should supply your ignition switch with power for various fuses.

Good luck.

Have you checked your fuses yet? Fuse #5 powers both the turn signal flasher and the vert top.

I checked all my fuses the other day and they all looked fine, but just for laughs I finally found a diagram for the fuses and replaced the #5. guess it was bad even though it didnt look burned cause now it works fine. thanks for all the help guys.
