When I was under my stang today i saw a stamping on the drivers side of my engine. It was E7TE-3 or (8)A

The previous owner said the car had a 69 rebuilt 302 engine. However, the E7TE casting was for late model E7TE heads if im not mistaken. Has anyone else seen this stamping on a block before?

E7 is definitely 1987 which is good or bad depending on what you want. A 1987 block is a roller block so you can run a more aggressive cam without losing idle quality. If originality is your goal.. uh oh.

i wasnt concerned with originality at all...lol.

He said (PO) that it had a roller cam in it.

What sucks is....I JUST bought a roller block so I could start building another engine!!! LOL

The E7TE is a late model roller block, far better find than a 69 block. Go get you a roller cam.

Far better performance from the E7 compared to the '69, which was only a 2bbl that year.

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
