When I purchased my car (66 coupe w/ 289) a few years ago, the blower motor never worked. That first year I purchased a new blower motor for it, and installed it and did a few other will I'm there things such as heater core, new seals, and the like, but I never got around to finishing up the wiring, since I store it during winter (to many projects, and not enough of me). This year I am tring to finish all of the little project and do some big projects, now on to my problem, the blower motor still does not work after wiring it. I have power at the motor, power thru the motor, power at the resistor, power thru both coils on the resistor, and power at the switch in all three settings (determined s/ test light). The blower motor (two wire, purchased at NAPA) and the resistor are both new. The motor doesn't even seem to run when I jumper straight to the battery, I say doesn't because a can't hear it run, can't feel any vibration on the case, or feel any air movement. Am I missing something here, or is this motor bad as well (wouldn't expect that from NAPA)? Also, the case is acting as a magnet, and collecting all of the metal shavings from the other project I have been working on, that makes me think the motor windings are okay, is that total of base? Is there some way to look inside the heater box to see if the squirrel cage is spinning?
