They are Powerdyne superchargers. I run one in my 95GT. I have had no problems with mine. Years ago before Powerdyne changed their design, they had problems with bearings and belts with these. You won't see that 9 lbs. until you reach about 5500 rpms, but 9 lbs is 9 lbs and you make alot of horsepower with that boost.

I personally would take the 6psi SC-Trim kit from Vortech over the Ford Racing unit, in the long run it will allow you to grow further.... They are usually right around $1700 as well.

Either Rick's suggestion or the Paxton Novi 1000 kit would be good.

I have seen more than a few make some pretty good numbers with those as well, after switching over to an F-150 crank pulley.

With the 4" inch powerpipe I made and 90mm MAF, I was getting 8lbs of boost at 5600rpms with a 6psi pulley on my powerdyne. I picked up almost a full sec in the 1/4 with just the 6 psi kit. im now putting a 9psi pulley on and should see 11-12 lbs of boost.

The Vortech or the Paxton will make more power than the Powerdyne at the same boost. The Paxton Novi 1000 kit should make more power than any of the kits and it'll bring on the boost faster also. Plus, either the Vortech or the Paxton kits are a pulley swap away to reach 9psi.

While I absolutely agree that the vortech and paxton will be able to make more total boost with the entry level heads, and I know of no powerdynes making 14+ lbs of boost , no centrifical charger brings the boost on earlier in the rpm range than a powerdyne.

I've got nothing against them. They'd actually be my first choice for an engine I didn't want to take over 450hp. They're good kits and the fact that they're backed by Ford says even greater things about them. They're also subtle soundwise which can be good or bad. If I was going to put a blower on mine the way it sits I'd go Powerdyne, but by the time I get ready to go F/I, if I do, I'm just gonna get a PTK kit with a 64mm turbo.

Yes it will whine. The SQ2 is the quiet one.
