Well im a Unoin Glazier here in California out of L.U 636, we always put alot of stickers on our hard hat's, it's kind of our stripes I guess you could say, here's mine, let see what all you other construction workers wear.

I'm trying to find a big "Torque, No Your Honda Can't do this" sticker for the back. I'm also a union worker, but for some reason, I don't have any union stickers on my bag.

My hard hat is all shiny and new since it does nothing but sit in my office accept for the couple times a year I'm in the field for an hour. I feel like such a goober when I go out with it. When I actually worked construction, we could always spot the desk jockeys by their shiny hard hats.

Go rub it in the dirt lol.. I work for lots of different contractors, so I don't really get to into my hardhats, cause each company gives you a different one..
BUT, my welding hoods have Shocker stickers on them

When I finish moving I'll have to get my hard hats out and show them. Had a 2 ton steel beam break the bolts and slam right onto my hardhat that I put on the ground cause the sweat was dripping like crazy. It split it right in half. That day was crazy.

I don't actually own a hardhat, but I get the opportunity to wear "visitor" ones all the time.

For the record, some of us "visitors" at your job sites aren't as big of jerks as you guys make us out to be by your stares.

On the North Slope, we've just implemented a policy where people who've been there less than 6 months, or are in a new position less than 6 months, have to wear an ORANGE hard hat, so everyone knows to watch out for them. Glad I don't have to do that! Might as well get a tall pointy one for people too.

Yeah but when your bosses hound you to hound your guys cause an office jockey is coming by today, no one tends to like them cause all the rules have to be exercised. I usually gave my guys a break on the rules during the summer since it can be so damn hot out no one really wants to wear their hard hats while laying concrete or hook up when installing beams. Just makes the day go easier since your guys will be more comfortable and not on edge all day.

Wish we could do that but were union and safety is #1 at all jobsites, if we get caught without a hard hat we cant come back to that contractors jobsite for 1 year, but were use to it

I've been pirating your quote in my sig for years. I notice you buddy! I will take pictures of mine tomorrow and post. There is actually an argument out there that putting stickers on a hard hat is used to hide potential cracks, so my company hates it... but when you got a site, you get a sticker saying you have taken their lame safety course.

I went to a jobsite where the contractor required gloves to be worn at ALL times, that was lame, they also say that the stickers make the hat weaker for some reason but I dont buy it. The day I have to take them off is the day I go to a different company. What trade are you in?

I am a consulting engineer.

We do development, design, and construction management of anything power (except nuclear). The last 2.5 years I've been doing wind jobs almost exclusively. I'm in the field about a third of the year. I'll get the pics out tomorrow, someone took the digital camera to New Jersey at my office.
