So, any of you guys out there interested in a group purchase with Borgeson, I am trying to work out the details, but before I get too deep in it, just wanted to get a feel for what you guys think. How many interested and what kind of discount are you looking for?

I would have been interested about 3 weeks ago when I got mine ! actually, all I got for now was the basic kit so I can make the car a pusher, I still need to get a pump, and I'm thinking about a tilt column to go with it if/when the funds allow, which may be a while.

robbz28,
Yeah, I know I'm the guy who first suggested the "group purchase" but I think bein' the cheap a$$ kinda guy I am, I'm just gonna go to the boneyard and get an Isuzu box and get my pitman arm properly welded. The only other thing different than the Borgeson unit is that not all of the bolt holes line up for a Mustang install, actually only one is in the correct location. Some folks may have a problem with drilling new holes in their Mustangs, but mine is a low $$$ value, plain Jane coupe that has already had a couple "permanent" mods, so to me it's no big deal to drill a couple extra holes and put tubes in the holes to keep the bolts from crushing the frame. $55 for the box with it's Isuzu pitman arm at the boneyard, $50 to have my pitman arms cut and properly married, $77 for the lower Borgeson rag joint

Borgeson Universal Company :: Ford Mustang 65-04 :: 1965-1970 Mustang Power Steering Conversion Box & Components :: Steering Coupler, 11/16-36 Spline, With Disc

?$$? for hoses to be made and I have the pump and bracket. If I allow $100 for the hoses (likely much less), for less than $300 I'll be done!
Just Bein' Frugal,
Gene

Yup, indeed you did mention the group purchase, if they will get back in touch with me...im just curious to see what a dealer price is on the unit. Im a cheap mo-fo too....but i have tried to fabricate stuff up myself and i have a 50/50 success rate.....what sux is when i have a failure I would end up spending the 300 you mentioned, plus an additional 900 to buy the right stuff to begin with....im tired of taking chances on pieced together systems. I like to buy stuff that is supposed to fit, and if it dont, send it back. I could get by really cheap and just get the box and use my new (old style eaton) pump with it and have my local shop fab me some hoses...
