Boring out EGR valve

So, if I go to put my explorer intake on, with the 65mm throttle body, if I bore out the egr valve to match 65mm, will it hurt how the egr works?

The valve or the spacer? The spacer should already be 65mm I think.

No it will not hurt it. I have done this before. The best tool I found to do this was a 3 inch sanding tool that hooks to a drill. It has a bunch of flaps of sandpaper that make up a 3 inch circle. Not sure what it was called but it worked Great!

Thats called a flap wheel.

just go to the part store and get a 3in 3stone cylinder hone, shouldnt be but about 10-15 bucks.

Thanks. I described the name in my previous post but wasn't sure of the name.

Good to hear, at least I can re-use my EGR plate when I upgrade my t-body...... right-o

I just figured I'd take it to work and use the horizontal mill with a boring bar. Thanks for the input guys.
