i bought my car 90 gt with borla cat back and it was very very quiet but had a nice sound, i jsut installed some long tube mac headers and an off road h pipe and the sound diddnt change too much. it got a little more deeper but nothin drastic. i no when my friend did the long tubes and open h pipe with his flowmasters it was like holy crap.

I got the Borlas on my 89 lx and I use to hate them because they were so quite, but they do sound nice, i just got a bassni x with cats and a gt40 longblock with the e303 cam so i'm anxious to sound it I bet it wil sound pretty smooth, I love the sound of the 4.6 liters.

Hate is such a strong word :nonono:

Yeah I guess it is. I really dislike them alot. They sound like a$$. They sound like more like the GM's. I think firechickens and camaros sound really crappy they got that raspy busted muffler sound that I just really DISLIKE. :notnice: I also think they are a bit $$$$$$ pricey. Like I said that is total personal preference. I dunno...

Hey now, I've heard dual-muffler LS1s and LT1s that sound pretty mean.

But no really... I kinda agree. I personally dislike Borla. The only car I've ever liked the sound of Borlas on was my friend's '72 small block Chevelle. They were... Loud.

Yeah I should have specified that there are firechickens and camaros that do sound good though. It seems rare though. I should ask what exhaust they put on it but it's not that borla sounding crap. :D

SLP exhaust sounds decent on the F-Body cars, as do flowmasters (duh). The problem being their weird exhaust setup with only one muffler. That can be remedied but it ruins ground clearance. My friend with an '02 SS Camaro just ordered SLP long tube headers and cats, and Flowmaster American Thunder catback. I hope it sounds good.

Same kid who has the Chevelle. I've yet to hear a car with a Borla system on it that I think sounds really good. But I have heard that the Stinger systems for later-model Mustangs sound good - anyone heard of these?
