I found a used CCRM on eBay for real cheap so I got it and I figured that since it was so cheap I might as well see if thats where my problems lie.
BUT I just got it in and it has a date on it. 25 Apr 1997

Its supposed to be from a '95 and it looks exactly like mine. Im guessing it was a replacement made in '97?

The part number on it is: F6SF-12B577-AA

Is this one from a 5.0?

Do the ones from 4.6's look anything like the 5.0 ones?

Eric,

Saleen0679 helped me put together a list of CCRM's, and that was the first one on his portion of the list that works for a 94-95 GT.

The scary thing is (I don't think it will apply to yours however) that some other CCRM's will 'plug right in' but have a few pins that are different, which can lead to obvious shorting concerns/issues. Someone could repin the CCRM but they'd need to know that their CCRM is one of those weirdo versions, and know which pins to redo.

I *think* you will be alright with that CCRM however (it is as correct as any CCRM part-number I know of).

Good luck bud.

Im going to put in in tomorrow or the day after if I have time. But just exactly would happen if some pins were wrong? Would it just blow some fuses or would it be worse?

Your part number looks good, but the wrong CCRM could be an issue. I seem to recall a couple variants (each with 2-4 pins that were different) so it would depend upon which was used. I never considered using one of those so I didn't research which wires would need repinning.

Good luck.

Instead of asking us here, play it safe and call the manufactuer... That's what they are there for.

the F6SZ-12B577-AA is the correct part #, the # you posted is the stamp/engerr # but the same = CCRM/PCM or ICM (whatever name you want to use), was used on 1994 to 2000 Mustangs wth V8 engines. the 1994/95/96 part # change on or @9/97 to the F6SZ #. the same one was also used on some Escorts and Tauras as well

Riveted to what? It should be attatched to the overflow bracket with 2 or 4 very small bolts. I think you need to take the bracket off the car to get to them.

Mike is right on (at least on my car, though now that I think about it, my CCRM might not be original, and someone might have done a work-around on the fasteners).

If yours is like Mike's and mine, the bolts are indeed tiny (5.5mm head?) . Then there's another bolt holding the E-connector to the CCRM (like a PCM connection).

Good luck.

I just looked ast it real quick. But I know a pop rivet when I see one. The top passenger side was riveted and there was a small screw on the top driverside. I didnt even look at the bottom.

I might be seeing things.
Ill look at it tommorrow again after class. I could have sworn it was a rivet though.

There are 4 holes. In 2 spots the "screws" have to go through the entire CCRM, thats where I saw a rivet. Where it just went through the thin metal, there was just a screw.

I think those straight pipes are messing with ur head LOL.

I wouldn't put it past Ford to do something screwy like riveting some in and using bolts for others.
