I just got 4.10 gears installed a couple of weeks ago and now my car will hit the rev-limiter really quick. On the way I have a nos dry nitrous kit. My question is what safety equipment should i get to help save my motor when i accidently bounce off the rev-limiter. I'm planning on getting a wide open throttle switch and fuel safety switch. I have thought about the window switch but it will not shut off until 6,000 rpm's and I think my stock rev-limiter is set before then but i can't remember for sure. Also how bad will it hurt my engine when and if this does happen. I'm planning on running a 75 shot.

What transmission? Auto or 5 spd? You don't want to hit the rev limiter with nitrous! Even with a properly calibrated window switch you're still not going to do yourself any favors hitting the limiter. If it's an auto, you're going to need to get a chip that compensates for the gearing/shift points.

There was a great post a few months ago that discussed the the shift points on the auto, the time it takes for the transmission to shift and why auto's bang the limiter sometimes with gears even if the shiftpoints are set right (delay in timing between signal to shift and actual shift).

If it's a 5 spd and you're worried about it, you either need to have the limiter moved a bit (your discretion) or shift sooner.

Just a couple thoughts.

Is bouching off the rev limiter bad? Like is it ok if it happens every once in awhile?
