Boyd Coddington Smoothie 2's and tires question

What do you guys think I could get for a set of Boyd Coddington Smoothie 2's w/ Yokahama Avid H4S' size is 235/45/R17's. They are mounted and balanced. The rims are 17x8's with 4.5" backspacing.

They have never seen the street. Just on the car for fit and pushed around the garage. I decided to go another route.

Any ideas? They even come with locking nuts.

Please, only serious replies. I have to make a decision asap. Thanks

17x8 and 4.5 BS is what I have on my Boyd Rallye 2s. I run 245/45/R17s. Looks good, but I regret not buying the 18s. But that just me. I could probably fit a 9" wide rim at the rear, but 8" is max for the front.

Yeah, I am not sure about the size I want, but I will certainly look at using less backspacing to fill up the wheel wells better. Not sure yet.

This is exactly the set of wheels I'm planning to buy in less than a month (once the car's out of the shop). Maybe we can strike a deal.

Do you have any photos of them (on and/or off the car)? What made you change your mind?

A set of spacers, 1/4 - 1/2 inch, would sure be a lot cheaper than the hit you're gonna take on the resale, plus the cost of a new combo. If the tires are too small -- maybe 245/50's would work better -- that just gives you an excuse to go out and turn the 235/45's into billows of white smoke. Just a thought, and not worth much if you've already decided you can't stand to look at the Smoothies another minute, but I think the Smoothies are bitchen.
