I never really thought about it until reading this, but you guys are right...not very much talent required to do what there doing. Not hard to drop in crate motors, take seats to the upolstery shop, etc, etc. Now OVERHAULIN, that's a build!!!

more interesting stuff goes on in our shop. Bolting a catalog car together doesnt impress me and thats all boyd does

What exactly does fat-boy Blue Bear do besides cause trouble. Any manager that would be talking to one employee about attitude while another is making smart-arse comments at the same time and not do anything about employee #2 is a bad manager. Boyd might have great hotrod vision but he is a crappy manager. And what a bunch of crybabies about small stuff going wrong.

all these "fix 'em up" shows are loads of crap, especially with the classics. they don't find difficult projects at all. if that were the case, it'd take them upwards of a few months to rebuilt the whole car, given that they do a truly fantastic job.
i had a talk with the guy that's repairing the body of my stang right now. his name is Bob Gelsi. he is a very very well known mustang restoration expert who has been doing the work for 25+ years. after seeing the work that he actually does including frame/unibody, body panels, and all sheet metal included, i can't believe that these shows actually call it "restoration" at all. his work is more detailed and meticulous than i've ever seen in my life. then again, he doesn't get to pick the easy projects like the hotrod shows do. i think they spend most of their time looking for cars that just need a few patches, a crate engine, and a paint job and POOF you've got a brand new restored car. it's all bull***** to me. hell, i'm just happy my car is being repaired by a real mustang guy instead of a stuckup fabricator.

No offense here, but you must not be watching Overhaulin'. They have had some cars on there that are in pretty bad shape. I have watched every episode and those guys do an amazing job to say the very least. I was on there website and the only real stipulation on getting a car on the show is that it runs.

What I really like about Overhaulin' is that almost everyone that has been on that show is an "average joe". It's nice to see an average person getting one badass car.

I guess I'm gonna be pissed @ American HR by what you guys are saying. I was looking forward to seeing it too.
I would get fired too, but for kickin' Blue Bear's ass and Dwayne's. Charlie is top notch.

I agree, OVERHAULIN is a very cool show, and they have undertaken some pretty tough projects. BUT, do you ever wonder what happens to these cars later. I know everyone that gets a car re-built does not have a garage to keep it in, or a second car to drive. All these FOOSE creations are just being used as daily drivers !!!

It's all about ratings. These shows aren't on the air the impress the "in the know" crowd. They are there to intertain the simple minded fools that hang out around the water fountain on Monday morning and shoot the crap acting like they know something.

Overhaulin' is pretty good, that guy Foose is really dedicated. Christopher Titus has had work done at that shop. In one episode, Titus came in and even helped out on one of the projects. One car that I really think had came out well, was the classic stang on Pimp My Ride. Only thing I didnt like were the wheels on that car, other than that they made it look sweet.

Pimp my ride takes WAY too many shortcuts. The Mustang they did really pissed me off. They didn’t fix the floor, they just bolted in new metal over the old rusted out floor. That’s no way to fix the problem. Plus, they didn’t fix the cowl that was leaking which caused the floors to rust out anyway.

Boyd’s show has issues. In the first few shows, they had him and the crew fighting with his X-wife which runs the shop on the business side. What a joke. It’s all fake. I think the fight was over $300

The only thing I don’t like about Overhaulin is the way the “trick” people into thinking their car/truck was stolen. I would be sick for days if my Mach 1 was gone and REALLY pissed if it was a trick.

I agree. "Pimp" is basically a cosmetic makeover. All looks, but a big POS underneath.
And Boyd's ex! What a fat/obnoxious bitch! I'd punch her in her big ass nose.
She must have something on his ass, to still work there.
Overhaulin' is cool for the most part, but I'm with you, if someone told me my 66' fastback(my parents bought it new) was stolen I'd ****in' freak. Someone had better tell me something "in confidence". I could play mad all day after that.

Yah I love it.

These are cars after all not garage jewelry or trailer queens. IMHO cars are made to be driven not carried.

Foose has an awesome imagination and a huge talent to come up with the cars that he does and to surround himself with the people who can pull off his visions. He was also smart enough to leave Boyd's shop.
