Brake questions

I just put on last night the mach/bullitt 13" rotors and calipers on my car. When i got in to drive it, the petal needs to be pushed down very far to get a resopnse from the breaks. I know that b/c its a new set up that it will be differnet, but want to make sure this is normal. If it is not normal, is there a way to adjust it to make the petal more responsive. I dont want to have to put the pettal to the ground just to slow down. They stop great tho. Would it help if i re bled everything? Thanks.

Alright first do not drive the car any more with it like this, it is not safe.

You absolutely do need to bleed the brakes.

A speed bleeder in each caliper will make this much easier.

Start with the farthest caliper, bleed it first, work your way back to hydroboost assembly under teh hood.

+1 to what Kilgore said ...

Just remember to keep fluid in the resovoir while you bleed the brakes, don't let it run dry. I recommend using a speed bleeder because they are hella easy if you don't have someone to pump the brake pedal ....

Dont worry i did bleed the breaks. I know how to and it was done right. What i am saying is that after bleeding them the pedal still doesn't feel right. I have to push it down a little further than normal. My question is is this normal for the breaks. Should i try re bleeding the breaks later on?

rebleed the brakes. this time start with the bleeder screws on the master cylinder then go down and do the 4 corners.

Are you sure you put the calipers on the right sides?? The Bleed screw should be on the top.. If they're not on the right sides, air will get trapped in there...

Otherwise, you definitely need to be re-bled.. Oh, and pump the brakes w/ the Master cylinder cover off to re-seat the pads..
