Alright, this SSBC kit has been squeaking since day one. The rear end is a new FMS part but the axles are original. I checked the measurement between the outside of the axle where the studs are and the inside "hat" area on the rotor. Plenty-o-clearance there. I had the rotors turned. I put the tbird anti squeak things in there too. I noticed one day while a buddy was driving me around in it that the rear wheels wobble. Today I actually pulled it apart and put a dial indicator against the rotor and against the axle face on the other side. I now this probably isn't the most precise way to measure it because of all of the play in the axles but there seems to be quite a bit of run out on the rotor. If you held a gun to my head I'd say about .007-.009 on the rotor and at least .005 on the axle face. The car is an 86 GT with about 135k on it. Any ideas? This is really driving me nuts. I just got back from the desert and I had plans to drive this car like crazy.

Are you sure the rotor hats are square with the axles? Squealing is caused by high frequency vibrations, put anti squeal compound on the backing of the pads.....

There is about 1/4" between the rotor/axle. It's not that type of squeal. It's just a constant squeak squeak squeak. I guess I left out another important symptom--harsh vibration at about 50-60. Sound like the axles?

Are the tires and wheels balanced. Vibration at 50-60 is usally a off balance issue, and if the wobble it could cause the brakes to squeak on and off with the wobble.

Also, are the rims bent at all?
