Does anyone know for sure that in order to use the Cobra R's brembo four piston caliphers you need to use 18s?

You can use certain 17" wheels. From what I understand the stock 17x8 wheels WILL NOT work. If you have 17x9's you should be all right.

According to Maximum Motorsports:

This kit requires 17" wheels with 50mm clearance to the back of the spokes (see drawing). We have found that Cobra R rims (17x9), '98 Cobra rims (17x8), and Konig Villain rims (17x9) will fit.

I'm planning on running the 13" 4-piston Cobra R Brembo setup myself, and I run the Steeda Ultralite II wheels because the look good and will fit the brakes when I buy them.

Exactly right. The stock 17X8 will not fit. I just got a set of these myself and am gonna have to sell off the stock Cobra Calipers. I tried a test fit on the factory 94 Cobra wheels today, and that was a no go.(Curious, this question has come up a lot) I have the FRPP 17X9 Cobra Rs actaully on the car, little tight, but they fit with no issue.
