Congrats to EJ (MyFordsFly) who made the most of a rare outing by reaching the finals of the CCC in spite of a leaking exhaust manifold. Although the Ford Drag Team did not win the race outright, we outpointed all other teams yet again by virtue of aggregate performance. We had two cars in the semis and one in the final.

All is well with the car. Ran the poop out of it on Saturday making 12 passes losing in the finals to the "Wild Thing" Falcon. Had some 1.54 60 ft times in the afternoon, but was bracket racing and peddling so I don't know what the ET would've been. I had to run it all out in the final but slipped to a 1.60 60 ft.

Thanks guys it was a good time, and congrats to you too John. Btw it wasnt a header leak. It was actually a blown head gasket. It sounded alot like a header leak for awhile there but got alot louder and started to miss.

& I missed that, You need some nice Cometic's or something to hold that in. Very nice 10.90 for that though.

EJ:

Congrats!!! Sorry I missed... Tucker and I were running some hopped up/performance R/C cars and had all kinds of trouble... Broken axles, electrical problems, cars that were way too loose... Oh, well... All in a day of racing... Hope to cross at the track so we can run together soon...

Take care...

Never heard a head gasket leak make such a sound. You must have blown the gasket between the cylinder hole and the outside of the head completely out! Oh well, an easy fix. Do you have O ringed heads?

Yea very easy fix, it blew the gasket ring out the bottom on the number 2 cylinder. Those were $20 fel-pro stock replacement gaskets and they lasted almost 2 years so I guess I cant complain too much.
Anyway the heads are sitting on the floor and should be at the machine shop sometime this week to do a quick deck just to make sure they are flat. And no, I dont have O-rings in these heads. I had the loc-wire grooves in my old iron GT40s which worked pretty good actually. I havent decided what Im gonna do head gasket-wise with these heads yet.

Matt, yea kinda funny gettin in the 10s on 7 cylinders. I just hope when I get it all back together the power comes back as well. That would be nice.

Thanks Tyler and Earl, wish you guys could have been there.
