Alright so we had a track rental yesterday. My brother took his 86 GT up, my friends 10 second all motor coupe, my other friends twin turbo 03 GT, and my car.

(Twin Turbo 03 GT) First ever drag strip pass. Gets in the water box, first burnout the tires spin nice, but he hits the limiter and stops it. Second burnout tires and some clutch, rev limiter again. Third try at the burnout the tires don't move. They held the car off for a pass or two and then let him run. 14.4 @ 104 and after he got off the track the clutch had seized up solid. Car wouldnt go in gear.

(Brothers 86 GT) First pass launched hard, bad pass. Second pass got out, second, went for third and bang. No 3rd or 4th. Limped the car home with 1, 2, and 5th.

(Friends Coupe) Second to last pass all the lugs on one front runner back off, almost had the wheel off. Last pass after we left got an oil leak and a motor knock.

(My car) Two street tire runs blowing the tires away until 3rd. Put the borrowed slicks on, got two clean passes. Last pass (the picture below is of this pass) I rev it to 6000 or so, and BANG. Car didn't move, don't even think it tripped the beams!

Terrible day but we all had a good attitude, stuff breaks, buy new parts!

Thanks guys, it actually doesn't bum me out at all. I was smiling when I got out of the car. This was an EASY 5 years in the making. Been rev limiter launching tis car since I was 17 (22 now) and had tires for it. My stock axles never cared, always went, but these 5 lug Ranger ones took 2 hits and then bang. Only snagged a 1.84 and 1.75 60' on the runs before, but with 18s out front, a 1.75 isn't too bad.

Going to order up some axles this week, and install them next Friday probably.

Stock uncut (I didn't cut them, the guy before me didn't appear to either) Saleen springs. Now what year Saleen, NO idea. I bought them from a guy that had a 90s LX, and didn't know the year car they were off.

Thanks bottlfed, that picture did come out good, as the car was not clean by any means. It was nasty had been sitting outside and not shined up before the race (I usually wont before races). Amusing picture though, because the car only moved from the spot by being pushed backwards from 4 or 5 guys!

Yeah it was a good day, and like I said noone was soured by it. My friend is going to upgrade, brother I am trying to talk into upgrading, and I am slapping some ranger axles (I know I should learn) in in a week or so, and then going to Etown in Nov on the street tires to try for some 12.8s and 1.8s on the 18s.

Funny thing was, the starting line was sticky, about 30' out it was like ice. I launched, got the car out, then the tires would spin, powershift second and hang on for the ride. Put it this way, the car spun so bad it went from going solid 13.1s all day, to two 13.5s on the street tires, and the 60's werent too bad either, a 1.96 and a 2.03. It would get to the 60', spin through the rest of first, BAD through all of second, and into part of third.

They need to prep the WHOLE track dmmit!

Yeah the picture looks real good, even though I don't think these rims work on the car.

The 60's will come down with time.

Yup, Prostars and I plan to have them chromed, so long as this is something they can do.

Well this is far from a show car, it looks good, but I built it for fun. There will be a new motor in it, and if there is ever an event with a race and a show... you know exactly where the car will be. The staging lanes!

Don't take this the wrong way man, but those bullits really make your car. They just go with the paint scheme sooo well. The Welds really look out of place on that car.

Trust me, I agree about the Bullitts. I had it on 17" Bullitts and it looked, ehh. I don't care much for the Welds wither, but I think Prostars all around should look good! We will see if I can borrow some.
