i broke off a valve cover bolt inside the head, and this would been my 3rd time doing it..the rest of the bolts are torqued to 12ft.lbs..this is in the middle of the 302 valve cover..would this be safe to run? im running a cork gasket as well

i think i was torquing the bolts crooked

but the first 2 might have been over torqued on heated, old bolts..the last one..my brother tapped the hole crooked, so the bolt went in crooked, and i was torquing down straight on it

and i just broke ANOTHER bit trying to pull it out

i honestly have no idea how i broke the bolts...my 302 doesnt like me..

btw..in ur sig, u say ricers think 50 is a big shot...thats only the stupid ricers who dont do any engine work and expect NOS to do awesome stuff

i know neons who have run up to 125 shot..but they also know how to tune it and rebuild the engine..and not all import racers are ricers
