bronco rearend

will a 1970 bronco 9inch rearend fit my 1973 mach1... my stang has a regular open diff and was planning on puting a locker in it but i found a 9inch out a a bronco with one already init and was wondering if it would fit right.....

The 70 bronco rear is 53 3/8 wide from outside of the flange to the outside of the flange so it is between the the 65-66 and 67-70 length wise. You will need to weld on new spring perches which might be a problem because on the 71-73 stangs the perches are actually wider than than the 65-70 (43 inches apart). I can't recall exactly how much wider but I think 71-73 perches are 44 or 45 inches apart. If they would fit you would probably need to run some seriously deep dish wheels. If I were you I would stick it and locate the housing from a 71-73.

I think the Bronco's got a larger bolt circle for the wheels too. Not positive on this, but worth checking...

Yep I forgot about that. It's 5 on 5 or 5 on 5.5 I don't recall which.

ok thanks guys i guess that would be a little to much hassle for me to do ... probally end up running ito problems latter down the road... but thanks for the help..
