Bullitt lowering Springs?

FRPP sells a lowering kit that is the stock setup for the Bullitt Mustang. I've seen a bullitt before, and it's moderate. The thing is, I live out in the country (no, i'm not a redneck) and the hills and bumps are outrageous, so lowering my car over 1 inch can and will be devastating for my underside. So my alternative to lose the 4x4 look is to go with the 1" front .75" back bullitt setup. Will I have to (or be suggested to) change my shocks/struts, put a c/c plate on, add a bump steer, etc....I really want to lose the 4x4; it would really make my black deepdish bullitts bring the car out better and I 'll lose the big gap!!, but I don't really want to put the extra $$$ into it if it'll be damaged the day I get it done. Any other suggestions or ideas that I may have overlooked?

If you can't lower over an inch then the bullitt kit is for you. Great bang for your buck. I use it with griggs subframes and MM LCA's and i'm happy with the combo.

I had the Bullitt set-up and had no problems driving on rough roads and such. Pretty good deal.

The kit comes with Shocks and Struts that match the springs and even a anti sway bars, which when I ordered mine wasn't part of the kit. Mine didn't need any of the other items you mentioned for proper handling. For the money it's a good deal. My kit also came in the original Ford box, which was not good for shipping. If you are ordering over the internet, you might want to consider shipping with Fedex ground instead of UPS - not so good experiences with UPS with large items unless packing is exceptional.

The easiest way to get FRPP kits is to simply buy them across the counter at Ford Dealers authorized to sell Ford Racing products (there's always one in every locale and if the one nearest you doesn't then they can tell you where the nearest one is). You can also call Ford Racing for a list of dealerships. Why should you do this? Generally you don't pay shipping to the Ford Dealership. You do have to pick up at the parts counter. Occasionally the parts counter will give discount to customers...not much mind you but sometimes enough to pay the sales tax. There's not much mark up on FRPP stuff...Ford does it for the promotional value wanting to keep you in the Ford fold.

Thanks for the tips....fr96ss, I believe it will work for a convertible, but I'm not positive.

I have them on a vert and have had no problems so far with better handling than stock. It's enough of a drop to kill the 4 x 4 look withoiut having to worry about ground clearance. I had Steeda sports and loved the look and ride but it bottomed out too often because a vert has about 1" less ground clearance than a coupe.

bullit suspension

I own a 96 GT vert,5 spd, pacific green. I live in NYC (Queens) I installed the complete bullit suspension and it has been fine. The ride is great, the look is just right. I have 18x9 chrome bullits with nitto 285/30 on all corners. I occassionally get the thud of the rear rubber stops over the infamous NYC street repair "speed bumps" and like any other drop need to be more sensitive to angled driveways but it is not that bad.

As I corrected myself on another reply. My tire size is 275/35 nitto extremes.
Never try and answer and e-mail until you have your first coffee. Combined with the 18x9 (that was right) they make for a mean look, good stance, very good handling... The question is how they will stand up to the rigors of NYC streets.
