Anyone ever install those tucked bumpers made by ScottsRods? Looks loke it would set you back about $500 but you might drop 150lbs. Depending on how you did it.

I've not done it, but there were plenty of folks on the (now apparently defunct) mustangii.net who did. Fit was very good from what I'd read, but how you mounted everything was up to you. Me, personally, I wasn't a fan unless it could be done in a way that was just as strong as the original, or stronger. Keeping in mind we have the same fireball-prone gas-tank setup as the Pinto. No question the stock bumpers are ugly and it's hard to find ones in good shape (or to repair them) I just wasn't ever sure a thin piece of fiberglass was the solution.

currently working on a handler roll pan shortening shock mounts and mounting 1x3 tubing under the pan fireball protection with slick looking rear

Yes i would definitely build a steel reinforcement under them.
