would our cars benefit from a bump in compression N/A ? a friend of mine is doing rods/pistons right now and he is getting his compression bumped to 10.5:1 just wondering if it would make any difference.

thanks in advance

Might be good for another 10hp. Why has he got the hard on for more compression? He plan on running nitrous or something?

he ruined his motor somehow.... his crank is just ****ed when they took it out and he needs a new one , so he got a new stock one and he is getting forged pistons/rods since the engine is torn apart and bumping compressions to run more nitrous on the car and was woundering if it would benefit at all to bump 1 compression.

If using nitrous it benefits a lot from compression, if using forged parts eventually for boost it's make things harder/worse.

He will get a bump in HP and if he is using nitrous, he should be fine. Boost always works better w/ a bit lower compression. Many go at about 8.5:1 w/ boost. W/ higher compression, he will need to run higher oct gas but, since apparantly he is already running nitrous, he should be doing that anyways. Good luck

Nitrous and compression go hand in hand. The benefits of nitrous increase exponentially when added compression is introduced. More explosive power stroke = greater output.
