I was in San Diego a couple weeks ago and the streets there suck. I tought Tucson's potholes were bad, but man, the drainage systems there create huge dips in the road where I would bottom out on if I did more than 15mph around mission beach.
Well I was turning left out of a steep hill, I hit the drainage way concrete and I heard it pop and smack the concrete and I new right away what is was, having heard that before. This sway bar was the low end one form steeda and I think it was a ford part or stock replacement.
Strange part is that it broke at the exact same location as the last one
What's up with that?? I have a feeling, our rear suspension is so loose and shifty, the thing just bend exactly the way it not supposed to (e.i. bending about the axis perpendicular to the bolt pattern and torsion parallel to it at the same time). It sheared right behind the first bolt hole on the passenger side. It's definitely a shear failer though, there were no signs of fracture or yielding other than it's final failure point at the corner of the cross section.
Has anyone had this happen? Or more than once for that matter?
Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions on a new one? Brand, etc? I'm thinking of going with a REAL sway bar system in the back from MM.

Odd they always seem to shear in the same place though
