Buyer's guide to 4.6L's

I used to own a 95 GT ... but I want to know if there's anything to listen / look for when I drive a 4.6L .. Probably going to try out a 99 GT 5spd with 79,000 miles.

It has cobra r's and exhaust.. is that worth $8,000 ?

That's not a bad price, but what’s the mileage. The only real problems that I recall any year before 2003 having would be the cracking of the front coolant crossover in the lower all plastic intakes. But this can be easily remedied by swapping out to the later model intake with the aluminium crossover. Unfortunately, it’s not something that’s going to make itself apparent, until it happens. Otherwise, if memory serves, they're tip, top.
