Buying Help

Hey everyone I am new to this forum and I am looking to buy a Mustang. So I have come to you guys with the knowledge and advice to help me decide which mustang to go with.

Here is the situation.

I am looking at TWO mustangs a Used 2011 GT Premium with Sync, Shaker, Chrome Shifter, JLT oil seperator, and raxium tailights, Brembo package in Kona Blue and the other is a Base Model 2013 GT.

The 2011 GT Premium has 6,000 miles on it and they want 28,000 for it.
The 2013 Base GT is 30,000.

How much would you pay for the 2011 or how much max do you think it is worth. (it is in mint condition with only 6k miles on it)

Would you go with the base 13 or the 11?

If it was me, I would look at the 11 for that dollar over the base 13. There is not a lot of difference in the changes over the 2 years... and to get a premium setup over the new 13 base... shoot, easy answer. ;) 6000 miles is just a broke-in mileage.

It's only JUST finished a proper break-in! Can't say I ever understood why folks bought cars, drove them for a few miles then traded them in. Haven't even had a chance to break even on the mark-down from simply driving it off the lot.

OP: A few questions to help inform the decision:
1) How long do you plan on keeping the car?
2) How many miles do you plan on putting on the car?
3) Are you planning to mod the car?

If you're going to mod the car, warranty is not as big of an issue, so that takes one of the advantages of the 13 away. What's NADA value on the two cars? I'm no expert on GT pricing, but that 2011 price seems high in comparison. If it were me, given what you've indicated, I'd get a 2013 for $2k more than a 2011. Sure the 11 has more options, but in 3-4 years, if you're looking to trade the car, those options aren't going to be worth near as much.

4) Which one do you LIKE more? If you're a bells and whistles guy, and not going to do many of your own mods, then the Premium package has value.

1) I plan on keeping the car for a fairly long time at least 5 years
2) Its hard to say really how many miles i will put on it but it will be my only car and daily driver.
3) I do plan to maybe change a few things here and there ( may supercharge it)

As for the bells and whistles its a plus but i do not have to have them. Its just that the 11 is in the color i want and has the Brembo brake package i want. Although I could always install a Brembo package on the 2013 later on. It really is a tough decision because either route I go is a good decision.
