mustang cobra rims 03 style 4lug

they are these. the current wheels on the car i'm looking at are beat up and need rear tires.

if i go with that car i'll get those black cobra wheels.

Depends on which cobra wheel, the ride height of the car, and so on. But can fit a 275, or larger, tire without rub.

Dont waste your money on 4 lug wheels, Do a 5 lug conversion if you're gonna buy new rims

Also, don't be afraid of a t-top car because you assume it will be flimsy. Be afraid of it because you'll never get the tops to seal out water quite right. Throw sub frame connectors at it, and flex will not be an issue. I have a set of MM SFCs on my t-top car, and I can put it on jack stands at 3 corners, and the forth won't sag even a half an inch. Solid, baby. Of course, I have a puddle on each front seat after I wash the car...

Best way to summarize a 4 eyed t-top yet!

I beat the snot out of mine at the track and she's solid. Towed my car on the trailer home through a rain storm and I spent an hour with the wet vac tring to dry the inside.

how much does that cost?

the benefit is disc brakes in the rear right? anything else?

i might have to wait to do that. i want to get subframe connectors and battle boxes first.

Brakes should be the first mod on a fox. Disc in the rear, increased stopping ability in the front. Save your subframes for later it might save your life.

what do you guys think of this white lx? for 2500 i could afford to get it painted. what does he mean by k cage? is that like a strut bar?

Body is ALWAYS first, paint and body work are the most difficult and expensive to do. So start with the cleanest car possible, there is nothing special listed for that car so i say keep looking, i know the feeling you're getting impatient and want a fox. I did the same thing and bought the first car i liked, big mistake and i have regretted it ever since. Never again will i do that.

actually i'm being pretty patient. i've been looking for a little over a month.

i'm going to fully inspect the original fox i posted with my mechanic friend that formerly had a 5.0

the body is straight on that GT (has a couple dings), just the paint isnt perfect. i can get a decent deal on paint later tho. i'll take care of the important things first like suspension/chassis/brakes.

i'd rather have a car i can trust to be reliable than a car with fresh paint that could break down.

if the car doesnt check out as good as its supposed to be then i'll continue to wait for the right 1.

I'm with shaolin on the paint, I bought my stang with it needing body work and paint, so I paid a guy who says he paints on the side $1000 to paint it and I regret that everytime I walk in the garage. A good paint job with minimal body work will cost you at least $2500.

And my brother just bought a 1 owner bone stock 92 lx for $3700, so I would keep looking. We had to drive 3 hours to pick it up.

Trust me its easier and cheaper to fix broken drivetrain stuff than it is to do paint, i got a 40k original mile engine and tranny for 500, tranny had a fresh rebuild and the motor runs like a top. Even if you had to replace a whole engine its cheaper and quicker than paint. Paint will cost you anywhere from 3-5k for a good job, and 5-9k for a fantastic job.

i havent seen anything with nicer paint/body than the 1 i am looking at for under 5k. all the freshly painted cars i've seen are over 5k.

and most of those freshly painted cars were sketchy overall with salvage titles. and in bad areas.

if and when i do get it painted, i'll make sure its a quality job for a good price. even if that means me doing the prep and buying the paint.

i hear you man def. but i'm not building a show car. for the price, i havent seen anything better overall in the last month.

the paint as it is, works fine for me for now. when the time comes i'll have it done properly for a good deal. its all about who you know and how much work you're willing to do yourself. those 1k paint jobs usually lack proper prep and decent paint. i can do the prep and get quality paint if necessary. i'll also do new window gaskets/trim at the same time

when it comes to bodywork, the things that scare me are accidents (frame damage) and rust.

anyways, i'm gonna inspect the original car with my friend later today (tuesday). i dont mind waiting a little longer for the right car, but if it checks out legit and he says to go for it then it will probably be the choice.

my mechanic friend said its strong as a mutha! it snapped his head back with every shift!

suspension is good and tight, but still oem/stock stuff.

body is good with a ding or two. frame is good with it only being in 1 minor accident.

paint is ok, better than most cars of this age. but it was a quick respray job and i can see the old paint in 1 spot that chipped on the rear bumper. if i can match some touch up paint i'll consider touching up that chip. or i'll wait until i can get a proper paint job.

the first thing i need is wheels/tires. either i can get 2 tires for about 200 bucks, or i find a set of wheels with decent tires. i wanted those black 03 cobra wheels but the ad expired...

i put a deposit towards the car tonight and it will be fully mine after my other car sells and i get back from vegas. so probably in about 2 weeks or so depending on how quickly it sells.

the seller also might have a pair of perfect condition seats for me too, i said might. either way no worry. the current ones arent perfect but arent so bad.

the A/C is there but it doesnt work. i'll need to address that by the time it gets hot again.

i'll make a new thread with pics/video once i finally have it. hopefully i can make that happen sooner than the current schedule looks like.

we are both 25. i wish i knew what was done to it to get more power but it still has the stock intake mani. maybe that was ported?

i've been in fast cars before and this 1 def has some power. it feels like it has more than a lightly modded LS1 camaro.

i'll have to dyno it and see what its putting down. and i'll do some more investigating once i have it. i might go by the shop he worked at with it and see what they know, see if they have records too.

Dont bother with the dyno, i can guarantee you're under 200rwhp. Take it to the track for the real test. And i can also guarantee its not faster than a LS1 stock much less a modded one. Gears make a world of difference in feeling but not power. Hope you didnt pay 4k for it...
