whenever i start the car when it's cold outside, i get a random buzzing/hissing noise from behind my engine. it seems to only do it when its cold and warming up. it does it more when under some load. once warmed up, it goes away. any ideas? it sounds like it's electrical but then again i dont know. thanks.

My car does the same exact thing. I have no idea what it is. It isn't necessarily hissing, but more like buzzing or something vibrating. It does kinda get on my nerves; makes me reluctant to stomp on it when cold.

I NEVER "stomp on it" when its cold.. I always let the engine get to operating temp before that.. then its fair game... Probably just something i do.. i doubt anyone else does..

probably a block warmer. some models came from the factory with them. the only other buzzing you should be hearing would be the fuel pump but it's in the rear of the car.

Other than looking on your original sticker I don't know. Judging on what he's saying with the electic buzzing, starting when it's cold, and shutting off when it's at normal temperature I'm almost completely certain that's what it is. There's probably some way to check for it that I don't know about.

Read the Owners Guide. page 139 in my book states that you have to "Plug the heater in at least 3 hours before you start your vehicle" and you need a 110v outlet. Unless you aren't turning the heater on then it's not the problem.
