How do I bypass the stock amp in my 92 with premium sound? My plan is to run the 5x7s and 6.5s off of a 4 channel amp and run the 3.5s off of the headunit. Does this sound right?

Just buy some new speaker wire and run it from the speakers to the new amp...problem solved

I unplugged the amp and hard wired the factory wires to the CD player, testing each before i hooked it up to make sure my balance/fade would go to the right speaker...takes more time than running new wire, but a better idea I think.

suit yourself, aftermarket wiring will always be better than stock
1. more insullation
2. thicker gauge
Just something to think about

When it comes to speaker, the wires doesn't have to be anything special. And if you cut the factory wires that go from the amp to the spaekers, as long as you find all the speaker wires, you can find which one is which by touching the wires on a 9v battery. It will make that speaker crackle.
