what kind of write up are you looking for? it is pretty straight fwd.
Change flexplate and torque converter
Possibly change headers
new crossmember
Possibly new drive shaft
Change shifter
The only complications are throttle linkages with certain carbs and a TV cable. The TV cable can be bypassed with a manual valve body.

Use an AOD flexplate for your engines ballance
AOD is wider than C-4, most long tube & Tri-y headers dont fit, Just about all shorty's do.
There are several aftermarket AOD-Classic Mustang Mounts.
You can shorten your C-4 Yoke 1 5/8 in. and wont have to alter your drive shaft
Use a 66 Mustang Shifter(not 65), and your C-4 shift rod can be modified to fit.I built my own.
Lokar makes a TV linkage that works well, have a tranny shop set your TV linkage as the Pressure is critical to the AOD's life. DONT drive around with the TV valve un set. A SHORT drive to the tranny shop should be OK

A trick to get our headers to fit a wider tranny:
Put a spacer between the head and the header flange.
I know it doesn't sound the greatest, but it works.
Seen it done many times without issue. My uncle used some thick header flanges to space his headers past his C6 and ran that setup for many years.
I don't know that you would need more than a regular SBF header flange on an AOD...
The C6 is a wide sucker and he needed some really thick flanges that he bought from a header company. They were like 5/16" or 3/8"
I think a standard set of flanges is like 1/4"...

You're absolutely right, it's not a motor, it's an engine!
When folks post threads about motor mounts, it's all I can do to keep from making a smart@ss post on the subject.
The military must pound this point into soldier's heads:
"An engine has pistons, a motor is electric."
I grew up around Army engineers and motor-pool guys, and this was their response whenever someone called an engine, a motor.
