Already posted on the corral, but since then I am not able to post any more meesages?? Seems weird, but here is my problem again:

Car will idle for a few seconds then die,,,then restart and it dies, over and over. Almost like a vacuum leak, cause you have to give it gas to keep it running. Once you are on the road driving it is fine, until you come to a stop or put it in neutral, in which case it dies again.

So, bought a new IAC thinking that was the problem,,,helped for like a day, then right back to where it was,,,dying over and over.

So, swapped out the stock TB/plenum and problem solved! Runs great, doesn't die any more. Now, just need to figure out which one is the culprit. Maybe it's the TPS?? The openings on the plenum seem to match perfectly with those on the stock plenum...so....I don't know...

I am not sure what to make of it, so any ideas are appreciated.

What kind of TB? It sounds like the TPS is giving you trouble, as you stated, but it can't be an Accufab TB, as they don't come with a TPS - you have to transfer the OEM one over. Or, better stated, if it is an Accufab TB, it can't be the TPS since you're likely using the same TPS on the OEM and the Accufab. Unless you bought a new TPS, but then new parts never die right? LOL

check the back vacumm line. I have a 96 with the C&L and my vac line split on me bacause the C&L tube is too big in the rear car was idling werid as hell wanted to die most of the time I just found it was split this weekend. Runs great now (till it splits again got to find a bigger rubber tube). Put the C&L on and move the t/b by hand and feel for vac leaks around the back and front tubes.

thanks...it is a BBK TB (uses stock tps). Looked at all the vacuume lines real good,,,but it runs fine now with the old plenum on. Tomorrow I am going to try to swap out just the C&L plneum and use the old TB, and see if that works. If not, I'll try just swapping out the new TB and keeping the old plenum. Either way, the problem is with one of the two....

I am slowly getting to the problem. Put the C&L plenum on with the stock TB today and it still runs good. So, problem must be with either the BBK TB or the TPS. Not sure what to make of it still. Going to go an try to install the BBK one more time and see if it starts to act up anymore...still could not find any vacuum leaks. Check both ends of all hoses I could find. Some are a little worn, but no obvious cracks. And I even unplugged a few with it running just now and none of them messed up the idle anyways...

The same thing happened to me, go out and buy a new TPS, its only like $30. Then let me know what happend. If that doesnt fix it then you forogot to put on one of the gaskets. You should have 3 gaskets, one on your t/b, one on one two of the valves. I can take pictures if you need. But go buy a new TPS and let me know.

I think its your TPS. When I installed my new TB/plenum I just bought a new TPS and put it on the new TB. (I live in CA and the Accufab plenum is not legal here so I have to swap it out during emissions tests. Having separate TPS's makes it easy to swap out.)

Also, if you get a new TPS you have to test it with a voltmeter if it is not idling properly. The readings should be 0.5V-.95V when the throttle is closed and 4.5V-5.0V when wide open.
