What is the approximate fluid capacity of a C4 trans with a Moroso aluminum pan and tranny cooler.

I think 6 or 7 because I'm C6 with a deep TCI pan holds 6 or 7. I don't remember excatly. Just put like 4 1/2 quarts start it up and then check it and put it in as needed.

A C6 holds more than that. I just put 8 quarts in mine after losing some from dropping it and I am still low. I did drain the converter when I did it, but still I was shocked. I figured on gallon would do it, but 2 did not even fill it.

To the original post, buy a case of fluid and a funnel that would work. Better to have a little left over than not have enough.

I just drained the pan and i put 6 or 7 quarts back it. I converter was already filled. When i do oil changes or change the trans fluid i just buy a case.

The reason I ask is because I put in five quarts and started it up to ckeck the fluid. It was low so I added another two quarts and shifted it through the gears but had no out put yet. I added another half quart and I had out put from the trans but it still showed slightly low on the dipstick. That's when I tried to add another half quart and it started coming out the dipstick tube. And now it shows way full.
So at a total of nine quarts it came out the dipstick tube.

That was with a completely dry converter and cooler. But it does include me puting one quart into the converter on install.

With a completely dry trans you will use about 10 quarts...... where is it coming out the dipstick tube? it should not leak anywhere if it is comoing out it would have to be at the top and there is no way it is that full.
